Pseudobunaea alinda is one of the largest species out of the African Pseudobunaea genus. In extreme cases they can reach a wingspan of around seventeen centimeter. In captivity they often stay significantly smaller. Specimens of thirteen to fifteen centimeter are more 'standard', but a lot depends of the quality of the food and the rearing conditions. Winter time rarely results in large adults. Nevertheless the size, it always is an impressive species. They brood more or less continuously in captivity, although the pupal stage can take a while, especially during winter months. Keep them warm and slightly humid. Night temperatures of around twenty degrees Celsius help a lot in getting the adults to emerge. This moth occurs from West Africa (Ivory Coast) to Kenya and southwards to Congo and Gabon.
