Okay, once upon a time, when we were still young and everything seemed much easier we would have called the moths below Lemaireodirphia lasiocampina. Well no, actually we would have called them Paradirphia lasiocampina. But then DNA sequencing became a hype and we ended up with hundreds of new species which all look the same but are still different somehow. And most of the times I like to mock all of this, but not with the species out the former 'lasiocampina' group. Nope, I can't keep the adults apart from one another, but there are quite obvious differences in the caterpillars. So here in this case I think it might even be justified to divide lasiocampina into more species. The matching caterpillars for these moths you find in my post from October 17th last year. It took this long for them to emerge suggesting there is only one flight annually. This is a relatively large and colorful species with a wingspan somewhere between eight and nine centimeter. So far this species has only been reported from the Mexican state Guerrero.
