Here's something you don't see every day. This medium sized Lappet was first described from Nigeria and later also from Cameroon and Burkina Faso. The moths in the pictures below are from Cameroon, from Obout Village in Central Cameroon to be more precise. It's a fairly large Pallastica, with a wingspan in between seven and a half and nine centimeter. Or at least the females are. The males are a lot smaller, about half the size of the females. In captivity they brood continuously with moths already emerging after a pupal stage of only two weeks. The caterpillars will be in the next post.
